End the production of foie gras in France

Christmas and New Year are getting closer and every year I ask myself the same question:

Do foie gras producers respect animal welfare at every stage of the supply chain? No, because it is impossible. The female geese are crushed or suffocated with life. They force them to forced feeding, which is stressful and painful, and causes them serious injuries. The liver becomes huge and sick, crushing the other organs. Not to mention death, how do these poor geese end up dying? Is it painless? Remember the video that was broadcast on Laurent Ruquier's "No Lying" broadcast in January 2016. It shows a particular employee who has no problem in assaulting and causing them to ache with unbearable pain.

Many European countries have banned these practices at home, why not France? Do not we have a heart? Minister, take the example of the 15 countries that have recognized the pain inflicted on these poor geese from birth to death. Let us be respectful of animal welfare, let us give up foie gras for the Holidays. Let us not be complicit in torture and barbarism, it is not the spirit of Christmas.
