Bishop of Apurímac prohibits this animal abuse

Thanks to pressure from around the world, the Diocese of Apurimac was able to prohibit this animal abuse from taking place during the feast of the Virgin of the Assumption, so this horrible tradition will not continue.

DO NOT tie a dog to the back of a bull during a bullfight!

In the village of Chalhuani, near the city of Abancay in the Apurimac region of central Peru, local residents tie a dog on the back of a bull during Virgen de la Asuncion. Then, they are released into a bullfight, where both will be killed

My goal is to stop this custom from continuing. Please sign the petition to ask the President of Peru to ban this terrible practice. Let's show them that this tradition is causing an international outcry that they cannot ignore!

My connection to the cause is that myself and others find this totally barbaric and inhumane to both the dog and the bull. Bullfighting is already grotesque and cruel, but adding a terrified dog to the slaughter is simply horrifying.
