In Chile there is no awareness of the sad reality of abandoned and mistreated animals. There are thousands of animals in that situation and the animals activists are not enough to help them all. Medical treatments are very expensive and there are no places where you can treat them as they recover.
We need a Law that not only protects animals from all kinds of abuse, but also provide them with veterinary care. Just as we have a right to healthcare regardless of where we live, animals should have the same rights.
I ask the President of Chile Michelle Bachelet to help the animal lovers to enact an Animal Protection Law and a Law for compulsory and free veterinary care to all animals.
