Congress approved Law to punish animal abuse with up to 5 years in jail!

Congressman Carlos Bruce was the driving force behind this bill, which was finally approved.
This Law imposes sanctions ranging from a fine up to 3 years of imprisonment to whoever mistreats an animal and up to 5 years in prison if the animal dies from these ill-treatment.
The Law also obliges municipal authorities to promote the creation of shelters to deal with the problem of stray animals in order to be able to adopt them.
We all hope that with this the animal abuse in Peru will significantly decrease.

It is important because there are many bad people who hurt innocent animals. We already want jail time for anyone who kills or ill-treats an innocent little animal.
Congress must pass the Animal Welfare and Protection Act with urgency, we can not keep waiting and seeing how animals are murdered and those criminals are not arrested.
There can not be any crazy people loose out there. Please, we need the Animal Protection Law!
