This educational institution has 14.5 hectares where students and teachers coexist with plant species and animals typical of the tropical dry forest, one of the most threatened ecosystems. Due to these characteristics, it was declared an Ecological and Educational Reserve according to agreement 011 of July 30, 1999 by the council of Barranquilla and is considered as a lung of the city.
Currently, it needs the support of the district administration and of all entities in charge of safeguarding oxygen supply zones so that it recovers and continues to benefit the city and the planet, mitigating global warming.
We hope that the Minister supports this petition, for which we extend the invitation to know the physical space we are talking about and the ECO-ROUTE project with which we dream to bring the students and community of Barranquillera to the knowledge and appreciation of the environment.
