In the municipality of Teresina Piauí we have the very serious problem of animal exploitation. There are more than 2,234 people who use animal traction in cars, which is why these carters have used this activity in a criminal way. The society of Piauí has witnessed mutilated and beaten animals in this type of activity. We have to end this situation and end this method of exploitation of animals. The exploitation and mistreatment of animals are crimes, and that is why we want the councilors of the Municipality of Teresina Piauí to vote a Law that prohibits animal traction in cars.
In some states of Brazil, these criminal activities have already been banned and an efficient method has been created to replace animal traction. Today, road drivers use bicycles attached to bodies to replace animal traction. This method is efficient and humane, and provides dignity and freedom for animals to live in their natural habitat in peace and without suffering.
