The wild industrialization of the swine industry has allowed pig farmers to remove the genitals of piglets a few days old without anesthesia of any kind, to save costs and gain productivity.
For the sector it is essential to sterilize these cattle but doing so without anesthesia, and at the stroke of a knife, the suffering for these animals, which are also babies, is unspeakable. Especially for females, whose ovaries are removed with a knife incision in the belly. Besides, those who usually practice this savagery are farmers, not veterinarians.
Consumers and the hotel industry are accomplices of this practice when we buy non-organic pork.
In many European countries it is illegal to market the meat of these animals if they have not been ethically sterilized. We demand that our Spanish legislation protects these innocents without a voice.
