Honorable members of the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic,
Bullfights are a nasty attack on the lives of those animals involved (bulls and horses) that causes, particularly to the first ones, terrible injuries and very high levels of stress and inevitably ending the slaughter after the runs. It is a tradition, that's true, but a bad tradition! Therefore, it should be abandoned altogether!
Unfortunately, abroad, Portugal is often cited by its indifference to the lives of animals, and particularly for bullfights. We are compared to Third World countries and known as barbarians because of these criminal practices.
The signatories of this petition required to be effective enacted a legislation prohibiting any kind of bullfights in the Portuguese National Territory as well as its TV broadcast.
