Vigilant police to stop animal cruelty at large here specially stray dogs and cattle

Addressed to: Chief Minister of Uttaranchal

Police of Dehradun might be vigilant and active for the general public here taking measures of their safety but the police here is not at all vigilant for the animal cruelty. So much cruelty is being done to the stray and homeless animals specially dogs but police hardly involves is such cases and does not even register a First Information Report against the culprit if any person approaches for a complaint. Sometimes the police just ignores complains and say they are more busy with public cases! Does that signify that animals rights are not protected even when their law exists? An animal life is of no importance and so is it’s death by cold blooded murder? Animals have a right to live and no one can torture and kill them, laws exist but are not implemented.

Yesterday a small puppy was tied to a bike with a rope and dragged in the main road of Dehradun city called Shastradhar, a road till it was a bundle of blood and mass! The pup was finally found lying unconscious with its face smashed! Such horrifying cruelty. The pain that little one must have gone thru is unimaginable and soul wrenching!! How can we let our stray animals here be murdered like this? Because they are homeless they can be killed cruelly like this? Did our Gandhiji say....A developed country is the one which protects and cares for its animals?

I request the police to find the criminal and give him a strict punishment and set an example of a vigilant police for the animals too so that no one dares to do this again! The innocent pup mercilessly killed for fun needs justice too!
