Punishment to the killers of abandoned cats of the refuge of cats in São Luís / MA Closed

The undersigned citizens, defenders of the proposed cause, request from Your Excellencies punishment for the murders and assassination attempts of the cats in the Cats Refuge in São Luís MA.

The Site of the Cats, located in the Avenue of the Africans, Areinha, São Luís - MA, is the place of abandonment of innumerable cats. In the face of suffering and abandonment, the protectors developed actions to temporarily shelter and protect these animals awaiting adoption, something that hardly happens.

The place is a mangrove swamp and before that many cats died, mainly kittens, drowned in the mud or in the full tide of the Rio de las Bicas. In recent years, even with all difficulty, Protectors of Animals, built a wall that prevented the death of those animals by drowning and clogging, however another threat came from the hands of men who kill cats serially and cruelly, using white weapon, knife, wood, etc.) and even placing ferocious dogs to kill them, characterizing a true extermination of the population of those defenceless animals. Considering the legal implications, in this second threat, even with the efforts of the protectors, it is not possible to annul it except by the help of the various Public Institutions, mentioned above, of our State.

In the face of so much cruelty and suffering that our little animals go through, we justify this signed down.

We find support for our claim in the following legal instruments:

Universal Declaration of the Rights of Animals, proclaimed by UNESCO in a session held in Brussels on January 27, 1978, which in its article 1st discipline "Art. 1. All animals are born equal before life and have the same right to the existence. ";

"
